春帖子，賀新歲
　　每年冬下，新曆年後，舊歷年前，會選一天和寫字班的同學一起寫春帖子。寫字班逾十年未招生，都是老學生，無非每個禮拜一起寫寫字。上完春聯課，同學可以寫些春帖子送朋友，祝福親戚五十，朋友一百，新年歡喜，健康平安。
　　二○二三年自秋徂冬，諸事忙碌，主要是辦理退休和清理研究室，忽然歲暮，轉眼新正。文房尚未歸位，亦無暇買萬年紅寫春帖子，加上領了敬老卡，宜減少體力活兒，只好請師友原宥，不再為親戚五十，朋友一百寫春帖子了。
　　我常用的萬年紅來自安徽涇縣，一位友人在城裡開了家小文房店，請其幫忙寄紙。歲末時節，友人會請熟紙名廠藝宣閣做些萬年紅，主要用來送人，偶有老朋友需要，亦可以單買。我懶得另外尋紙，每年請他寄一些，以為寫春帖子之用。二○二一年藝宣閣不做萬年紅了，友人說機製紙太便宜，手工紙做萬年紅划不來，連工錢都不夠，於是用二○二○年的存紙頂著。連續兩年買不到萬年紅，去歲發文云可能是最後一次為好友寫春帖子了，這樣也好，寫春帖子是體力活兒，今歲退休，領了敬老卡，休息似亦理所當然。
　　新年喜洋洋，春帖子紅咚咚，平添年節喜氣。告別忙碌的自秋徂冬，二○二四年春暖花開時，安頓好身心，喜迎退休生活。

A trove of the artist’s works, collected by a former Microsoft executive, will be on exhibit and later donated to the Seattle Art Museum.

The gift of the Calder artworks is accompanied by a $10 million endowment and annual commitments to fund the museum’s multiyear plans 




“Calder: In Motion, The Shirley Family Collection,”

“The Shirleys’ vision,” said Alexander S. C. Rower, the foundation’s president and Calder’s grandson, “is to provide a forum where people can get together and discuss Calder’s genius and ideas and legacy, and how to engage and serve the public long term.”

Painting and printmaking[edit]

In addition to sculptures, Calder painted throughout his career, beginning in the early 1920s. He picked up his study of printmaking in 1925, and continued to produce illustrations for books and journals.[47] His projects from this period include pen-and-ink line drawings of animals for a 1931 publication of Aesop's fables. As Calder's sculpture moved into the realm of pure abstraction in the early 1930s, so did his prints.
