The Solow growth model, propounded in his book “A Contribution to the Theory of Economic Growth,” in 1956, and its empirical follow-up, “Technical Change and the Aggregate Production Function,” published in 1957, made his reputation while he was in his early 30s and led in due course to the Clark Medal and the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.

#畢律斯鐘樓之鐘聲重現2023年12月24日聖誕夜
臺中市市定古蹟畢律斯鐘樓，去（2022）年，因 #銅鐘軸承 、#軸心變形，以及銅鐘內 #鐘錘擋片鬆脫 ，造成銅鐘歪斜，無法正常使用，因此，去年聖誕夜沒有實際敲鐘，使用錄音播放。該銅鐘修復計畫書經報臺中市文化資產處同意後，#軸承更新 ; #軸心，由碳鋼更換仿作，具有 #良好抗拉強度、#韌性高、#耐磨性，以及 #耐衝擊性的藍十字鋼，目前已大致修復完成，這個銅鐘 #今年剛好滿140年，#我們期待明天聖誕夜，#鐘聲原聲重現，我已於今（2023）年11月23日，銅鐘吊掛上去後，#已試敲過，#也是我這一生僅有的一次敲鐘，如影片。
【畢律斯鐘樓小常識】
1、為紀念及表揚東海大學第一任會計長兼總務長畢律斯(Elsie Priest)女士，對亞洲高等教育的奉獻，由美國新罕布夏州的欽城(Keene)基督教合一教會捐贈，製作於1883年5月的銅鐘，根據本校政治系退休師長張玉生老師表示：他當時(1966年)在東海大學基督教會擔任「司庫」職務，就其所知，因銅鐘太重（經實際磅秤：997公斤重），經協調由美國海軍運補軍艦運至臺灣，並於1966年10月安裝於鐘樓之上，現為臺中市政府指定為市定古蹟。
2、週日上午10點55分鳴鐘39響，為紀念耶穌在羅馬帝國時期，為世人受難，被鞭打最高極刑39下，至今140年的古鐘，聲音響徹雲霄，迴盪不絕於耳，深深地感動在心底。
3、每年12月24日聖誕夜敲鐘， #自晚上11點58分20秒開始敲，#至凌晨12點，#剛好敲100響。
