Today, we honor the life of legendary sculptor Richard Hunt, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 88. Hunt's legacy as a sculptor has left an indelible mark on the artistic landscape, and his creative genius and dedication to his craft have inspired countless individuals to create without limits.
At the Detroit Institute of Arts, we have the privilege of housing several of Hunt's remarkable works in our permanent collection. Among these treasures is "Field Section," a breathtaking sculpture crafted in 1972.
