This Assyrian tablet records the #SpringEquinox over 2,600 years ago, noting that ‘the day and night were of equal length’.
Tablets like these were sent as reports of divine action to King Ashurbanipal, where they entered his famous library. The collection of over 30,000 clay tablets spanned everything from court intrigues and secret reports to hymns and medicine.
