路透引述台灣知情人士消息指出，5日上午，約10艘中國軍艦越過海峽中線並停留在該區，另有約20架共機短暫越過中線，目前台灣海軍船艦正針對中國海軍活動進行密切監控。
稍早，我國防部5日表示，截至午間11時，計有中共軍機、軍艦多批於台海周邊演習，並踰越海峽中線活動。衛報指出，台灣國防部尚未針對越過台海中線的共機、軍艦數量給出官方數據。
我國防部稍早表示，針對中共軍機、軍艦跨越海峽中線活動一事，我國國軍運用各種監偵機制，嚴密監控敵情狀況，除於第一時間廣播告警，並運用空中偵巡兵力、海軍艦艇，以及岸置飛彈系統適切應處，而共軍在此次軍演中不論是發射彈道飛彈，或是刻意踰越海峽中線進行演習，均屬高度挑釁行為。
中國軍方4日起在台灣周邊海域進行大規模軍演。不過美方也表示，隨著中國在台海發射飛彈，五角大廈已指示「雷根號」留在台灣周邊海域監控情勢。另據「南海戰略態勢感知計畫」（SCSPI），在中國軍事演習第2天，美方加強在台灣本島附近的空中ISR行動，派出至少7架各類型偵察預警機，另有6架空中加油機支援。

Speaking to reporters, Japan’s defense minister, Nobuo Kishi, called the incident “a grave issue that concerns our national security and the safety of the people.”

Although much attention has been on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, the real potential for a military showdown comes now that she has left.
China’s military has said it will conduct a series of live-fire drills beginning on Thursday. A post on Chinese state media offered coordinates for six swaths of sea surrounding Taiwan, three of which overlap with areas that Taiwan says are a part of its territorial waters.
Where China Plans Military Drills
Some of the areas are inside what Taiwan says are its territorial waters, and they are closer to Taiwan than similar areas announced during the Taiwan Strait crisis in the mid-1990s.
