所謂"民調"的魔術
Trump is touting a new USA Today/Suffolk poll appearing to show 50 percent of Americans agree with him that Mueller investigation is a “witch hunt.”
Here’s what was asked in the poll: “President Trump has called the Special Counsel´s investigation a ‘witch hunt’ and said he´s been subjected to more investigations than previous presidents because of politics. Do you agree?”
Pollsters call the results unreliable because the poll (1) asks three things within a single question; (2) asks respondents if they agree, without asking if they disagree; and (3) links Trump’s viewpoint to the investigation without defining any terms.
Other recent polls show quite different results. An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll from December found that 54 percent of those surveyed considered the Mueller probe to be a fair investigation, compared with 33 percent who saw it as a witch hunt.
And an Economist/YouGov survey from May 2018 showed a 43 percent plurality of respondents viewing the probe a “legitimate investigation,” versus 37 percent who thought it was a witch hunt.
My take: Trump and his mouthpieces on Fox News and right-wing radio have been increasing their "witch hunt" rhetoric for several months, in anticipation of the Mueller report. Mueller has said nothing, as is appropriate. But when lies fill the airwaves and social media -- repeatedly and continuously -- with nothing to counter them, it's not surprising that many Americans would begin to be swayed.

Krueger was found dead at his home in Princeton on March 16, 2019.[6] His family stated the cause of death was suicide.[6][22] In a statement, former President Obama declared: "Alan was someone who was deeper than numbers on a screen and charts on a page," adding, "He saw economic policy not as a matter of abstract theories, but as a way to make people’s lives better."[23]
