感謝許先生幫我們集好書。
小民的回憶
小民的書幾乎清一色是散文集，只有如今大家見到的這本《回憶曲》（台北林白出版社，1978）例外，這是本集小品、散文、小說、新詩及手迹於一身的文集。此書薄薄的不滿二百頁卻分成四輯，第一輯收小品近三十篇，以身邊小事及家人作題材，保持了她一貫的風格，張秀亞在序中說，這「如同三月陽光，予人無限和煦親切之感……」。
《回憶曲》的特點不在小品，而是第二輯的散文及小說，和第三輯的新詩，據說書中的這些小說和新詩，是小民同類作品的全部，如果你讀她的散文小品多了，轉轉口味會更覺新鮮，領略自有不同。我比較喜愛的，是書中的第四輯，收了覃子豪的十二篇詩、信手迹，以影印真蹟方法發表，並由小民撰〈回憶曲〉，記述她隨覃子豪師學習的點滴，作為「覃子豪師逝世十五周年紀念」，極具收藏價值。

曹賜固|先生是曹永洋的父親，著作/翻譯：《八芝蘭天玉齋隨筆》、《日本短篇小說傑作選》、橫溝正史《獄門島》。
這本小說集，幾年前討論過此書川端康成的小說〈並木〉（翻譯成〈街樹〉），頁92~107。2024年，還有論文探討書中的馬伕的心理分析和愛情觀。
其實，在2023年我的簡介志文出版社的新潮文庫時，這樣寫：
楊牧、林衡哲主編，殷允芃女士文本《中國人的光輝─當代 名人訪問錄》，此書訪問當時海外著名華人，連很少受訪的張愛 玲也竟然登場。此外顧維鈞、王安、貝聿銘，日本一對活躍文壇 的夫婦，三浦朱門和曾野綾子。三浦在受訪中提及：
「閱讀在日 本很受重視⋯⋯法國作家沙特三部曲之一《到自由之路》在法國 僅售出五千冊，而在日本暢銷五萬多本。新潮文庫出版《沙特自 傳》較諸中國簡體字版《文字生涯》更提早 20 年。」
曾野綾子的書，台灣翻譯至少半打，他的先生三浦朱門同樣的文化人 (文化部長，是否為首任，待查)、作家，還跟李登輝先生有交往。在《日本短篇小說傑作選》中，收入他的名作：冥府山水圖，頁169～187．
曹賜固寫〈走過來時路〉時，89歲，是一篇感人至深的回憶錄 (對於電影和文學的喜好，內容上，父子很相似)。
在日本九年的苦讀，"啃讀德文和繁重的醫學課程，個中艱難不是用筆墨所能言喻....."
我們引用數段：

- Costruzione 1501 - 1515. Tra il 1515 e il 1526 è stato eretto il campanile, su disegno del maestro Gerardo da Piacenza.

La chiesa appartiene all'ordine dei frati carmelitani.
Il ciclo di affreschi che ricopre l'interno è opera di Francesco Scanzi, Giulio Campi e dei fratelli Francesco e Bernardino Carminati.
La controfacciata, opera dei fratelli Carminati, è occupata nella parte inferiore da uno spettacolare affresco del Giudizio Universale. Nella parte superiore, invece, vi sono ai fianchi dell'oculo San Pietro e San Paolo, mentre sopra di esso, è raffigurato Dio Padre.
Opera dei fratelli Carminati è anche la splendida decorazione della volta, divisa in cinque settori corrispondenti alle cinque campate della chiesa.
Anche le rappresentazioni di profeti nelle lunette che ospitano gli oculi delle pareti sono opera dei Carminati.
La prima, la quarta e la quinta cappella a sinistra e le cappelle di destra sono state invece affrescate da Francesco Scanzi con vari soggetti, tra cui Madonna col Bambino, Fuga in Egitto, Annunciazione, Apparizione di Gesù alla Maddalena e santi. La terza cappella di sinistra sarebbe invece stata affrescata da Vincenzo Berlenghi, allievo-aiuto di Scanzi.
Il presbiterio ha una volta a crociera nelle cui vele Giulio Campi rappresentò gli evangelisti.
Opera di Giulio Campi è anche il grande affresco sull'arco trionfale raffigurante la Madonna in gloria circondata da angeli musicanti.
Nell'abside, infine, con base poligonale e volta semicircolare suddivisa da costoloni in spicchi contenenti tondi con busti di santi carmelitani.

2019 年香港的關鍵詞是痛苦；2020 年香港的關鍵詞是內疚
一、
為了擺脫消費受訪者的重擔，儘管我從未見過他，還是去了歌連臣角一趟。郭子麟在港大的莊相就是在此地拍攝（cutt.ly/6jrRjb8），他所珍重的一切都在這個天涯海角。
但到頭來任何補救都不能稍減內疚。我過來了，他不在了，只剩下海水與石頭。
唯有救到香港，所有人才有救。

先見證無數人相送黃、林、周的囚車，再見證押解黎智英的囚車駛過中環紀念碑。我們很多人都願意用一生，甚至用性命換取 2020 年不會發生，但任何一廂情願的廢話都改變不到現實。
我想起 1910 年老羅斯福總統（Theodore Roosevelt）在索邦大學的演說《共和國的公民情操》（Citizenship in a Republic）。
“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. 七一國安法生效後，每逢出事趕赴現場，我不時都會哼著《帝女花》的《香夭》。
也許我很老套，但我在腦海中浮現的不是任劍輝和白雪仙（cutt.ly/hjyesW8）。擔當周世顯的是黃耀明，飾演長平公主的是何韻詩。而且黃耀明會穿著馬褂，何韻詩會戴著鳳冠重演。
小時候聽《香夭》純粹因旋律而動容，如今才切膚感受遺民死節之痛。
陳寅恪先生的名篇〈贈蔣秉南序〉，開首便提到「易堂九子」，深羨他們在明清易幟的亂世仍能「保聚一地」。
然而陳先生一生寢饋史籍，焉會不知「易堂九子」豈止「講文論學」，他們私底下還一直反清復明。
陳先生的心底其實想光復中國，在極權統治下用典故隱喻埋藏萬千深意，化作「心史」。

崖山一役後宋祀從此而絕。陸秀夫負帝昺投海後四年，鄭思肖「慮身沒而心不見知于後世」，將自己奉宋討元的所有作品，合輯而成《心史》，外書《大宋鐵函經》，用石灰、蠟、錫、鐵層層密封，藏在蘇州承天寺的井中，埋沒井底凡三百五十六年，直至蘇州旱災才意外出土。
但悲劇還未終結，《心史》出土的日子是崇禎十一年。
無數人都遺恨一生，活不到黎明來到的一日。

2019 年是屬於香港的 1989 年。
假若政權又挨得過幾十年便會穩操勝算。我們都會成為過氣的老一代人；不甘的人都在監獄度過半生；離散的港人子女都是 abc，老母都唔識屌。留下來的記憶愈益飄渺，始終改變不到歷史。
人生不長不短匆匆數十年，據說海平面不斷上升，香港終究會陸沉，為什麼我們還是不甘心，要挽救不可挽回的命運。
後來我漸漸明白，不屈的人並非純粹這麼偉大，明知結局會輸依然要知其不可而為之。原來我們心底總有一點希冀，冥冥中總有知音理解您，也許在世上某個角落，也許是前人，也許是後世，甚至也許是神明。因為對方給您無限的信任，所以您知道怎樣做，不能退縮，不能放棄，無論結局未知還是註定，不能辜負彼此同在的心靈。
《塔木德》記載上帝一心要毀滅一個不義之城，阿伯拉罕不斷向上帝求情，上帝終於答應只要城內還存在十個好人，祂就會手下留情。
沒有信仰的我初看故事，只敬佩猶太人的想像力，飽歷憂患才明白信仰的可敬。耶路撒冷在《聖經》的名字正正是「公義之城，忠信之邑」（the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City），猶太人就是這樣活過來。

當隕石降下，世界末日，恐龍苦苦掙扎，嚥下最後一口氣。牠們怎會想到千萬年後會迷倒一個又一個小朋友。
若果恐龍知道的話一定好開心。不要質疑恐龍的智力，不要追問恐龍何來前世今生，要有信心。牠們的肉身仍在我們身邊，化作永遠的海水和石頭。
億萬年後，外星人來到地球，他們挖掘地底，奇蹟地發現一塊化石，上面保存非自然的痕跡。外星人小心翼翼抹去上面的塗層，發現八個符號，可惜遍尋遺跡仍然無法解讀。他們非常惋惜，終於決定用八個符號命名這個星球。

Object of the Month: Minstrel with Cymbals, May Morris, embroidery on linen, c.1890, Collection of The William Morris Society
This beautiful embroidery, designed and stitched by May Morris, was adapted from a stained-glass window by her father. May changed the colour scheme to delicate silvery shades, altered the background foliage and added the pattern tiling which is picked out with gold thread. It is a rare example of a figurative embroidery by May’s hand. A stained-glass version of Minstrel with Cymbals, originally from Dalton church, can be seen at the William Morris Gallery and there are several up and down the country.
The Society is fortunate to have a ten year provenance to this object as a small archive was donated along with the embroidery. Mr Patrick Rice, owner of Minstrel with Cymbals, began an interesting correspondence with May in 1925 when alerting her to the purchase of the embroidery. They shared similar interests including the preservation of Red House. In one letter May expresses her annoyance over the title ‘The Red House’ and dislike over the modern conveniences, such as radiators and gas fires, which had now been installed at the property.
May and Patrick Rice became actively involved in the appeal to preserve Red House with May urging him to gather local support. May wished ‘this monument of the beginning of modern English Art to be saved from destruction or neglect’. Writing personally about her former home, May believed that out of all Phillip Webb’s buildings, Red House was ‘the jewel’ and it should have a useful purpose such as a school of art and handicraft. Ultimately May’s wish came to fruition; the house was saved for the nation when it was purchased by the National Trust in 2003.

"愛國"無力可回天：優越感十足的滿滿中國元素.....
【即時頭條】為什麼中美合拍電影不受歡迎
儘管有中國最大的院線營運商提供資金支援（可能是中國史上最大規模的營銷活動）和節假日周末的黃金檔期，《長城》的首映票房在2016年內地排行榜上也不過第三，不及國產愛情片《美人魚》和美國視訊遊戲電影《魔獸》；6700萬美元的首周末票房甚至趕不上2015年聖誕節上映的《尋龍訣》。慘不忍睹的評論和吐槽，鋪天蓋地的社交媒體嘲笑，《長城》的票房前景暗淡無光。
就連這部電影的大明星麥迪文(Matt Damon)也無力迴天。某線上票務網站的明星票房榜（根據粉絲購票數量排名）顯示，達蒙目前排在第六位，本片配角鹿晗的粉絲購票量是他的五倍。
這還不足以說明《長城》有多麼令人失望。本片製作方和那些希望在以後項目中效而仿之的企業有著更大的野心。他們希望這部電影成為跨文化合作在中國（全球第二大電影市場）締造票房榮耀的榜樣。萬達老闆王健林直言不諱地指出：「中國元素越多，利潤越大。」萬達旗下公司參與了《長城》製作。
而這種方法的問題是，「中國元素」很容易讓人產生流於表面和逢迎市場的印象。越來越多的中國電影觀眾和新聞媒體嘲笑荷李活一心搶佔市場，在植入中國元素（中國演員和產品）方面用力過猛。《變形金剛：殲滅世紀》(Transformers: Age of Extinction)和《天煞地球反擊戰：復甦紀元》(Independence Day: Resurgence)就是例證。
這就是為什麼中美合拍電影不受歡迎的原因。2011年，《長城》導演張藝謀在《金陵十三釵》中啟用比爾(Christian Bale)擔任男主角。儘管政府強力支援，但這部電影在中國勉強混了個不虧不贏，在國外則一塌糊塗，票房甚至沒有擠進華語榜前50，被幾部美國超級英雄電影和中國喜劇遠遠甩在身後。
《長城》遭到了類似的批評。片中女兵擊鼓的片段和拙劣的秦腔讓一些影評人士氣惱不已。某評論人士抱怨，這部電影的「中國內容源於燈籠、中式盔甲、長城等常見符號。」另一位評論者則說，「張藝謀已死」。對於這位備受尊敬的中國大導演來說，這可是相當不留情面的評語。
諷刺的是，外國大片在中國依然賣的很好。2015年外國大片佔到中國票房的38％，而且這還是中國每年只允許引進34部荷李活影片的情況。近來中國本土創作的表現也可圈可點，特別是符合本地口味的匪徒電影、歷史史詩和喜劇。和所有有眼光、有內涵的觀眾一樣，中國電影觀眾也喜歡優秀的中國電影或美國電影。他們可不想看到「中國元素」被生搬硬套地嫁接在西方驚險動作電影上。
如果荷李活想與中國電影人合作，那就得放棄聯合製作這種既尷尬又優越感十足的方式。更好的辦法是在中國創建一個國際工作室，培養年輕的中國電影製作人和劇作者，幫他們創作出吸引中國觀眾的電影。夢工場動畫公司(DreamWorks Animation) 2012年與中國合作伙伴創立東方夢工廠(Oriental DreamWorks)就是走的這個路子，他們包括《功夫熊貓3》(Kung Fu Panda 3)在內的早期成果既叫座又叫好。這纔是打造火爆電影的持久配方，無論中外，概莫如是。撰文/Adam Minter

Alfred Tennyson wrote his verse play about the famous English outlaw, and his last book in his lifetime, The Foresters: Robin Hood and Maid Marian, at the request of the America theatre manager Augustin Daly in 1892, when he was 82 years old. Daly, who had met Arthur Sullivan in California, asked him to write the music and Sullivan composed the nine short numbers which comprise the score.Sullivan probably undertook the work out of regard for Tennyson rather than any real enthusiasm for the play itself and tried to persuade Tennyson to make changes. He objected strongly to the title of the play, finding it colourless, and urged Tennyson to change it to Maid Marian, but the elderly poet refused.

今天，台北是大好天氣。不過，日子還是如『語急』般(如 )溜掉 ，心情隨光陰交錯。
這是同仁誌，所以讓我在2014年初做個夢，諸位在今年10月底交篇不記長短和文體的稿，如此年底可出一本雜志，以圓文藝新書夢。
