I copy this mail to Prof. Tsai of Tunghai and Prof. Wang (our old friend) so that we might be better aligned. I also copy it to president of CSQ, Prof. Chang (wkc) for his information.


Let me report to you what I have done during last two weeks.

I decided to launch a half day course on Oct. 17 in CSQ . This will explain the main points of your two books.That is the morning course is a preparation one for your lectures. I asked some of my clients in China Petroleum Corp. to attend it and your lecture.

The whole day program of Oct. 16 was advertised in the September issue of Quality Magazine of CSQ. Unfortunately there was a typo in the Chinese name of Litton-on.(same pronunciation but wrong word).
Perhaps a much detailed D.M. will be sent out this month.

I plan to post your career profile in the October issue of Quality Magazine.

Let me recap the lectures. The dinners for the first two days( Oct.16 in Taipei and Oct.17 in Tunghai campus, Taichung) and lunch (Oct. 18, Taichung City) are reserved.

The open ceremony of Lectures will be held on Oct. 16, 1500-1515 by the vice president of Tunghai University and me with introduction of you. So you can get to CSQ around 1440. Two translators are arranged for you and your wife if she decided to come with you.

In Q & A session of the first lecture, Prof. Samuel (S. D) Wang will be the moderator. We had a dinner at Grand Hyatt in 2006 and you sent us a photo. All other sessions(Taichung) will be handled by me. I think we'll send you some questions before the lectures and you might like to prepare for them.For example, your experience of Dr. Deming's organizing for transformation in MNCs and in Taiwan.

Since no preparation course for students of Tunghai so I decided to donate 50 set of your books to them so the interested students can acquire them at reasonable prices.

I am designing a game called Continual Improvement for Generations (of teachers-students) for the opening ceremony. I like to invite your comment.

This game is design to serve the purpose of this Lecture Series. The basic idea is that we speak to our students ( younger generation) that YOUR TEACHERS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS MINE. And we speak to our teacher (older generation) that YOUR STUDENTS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS MINE.

Well, Some confusion. Never mind it. This is just a thought for your reference.

Once again, I like to say thousand thanks for Bill's generosity and kindness to agree to deliver this year's Tunghai Deming Scholar Lectures.
