I have always been intrigued by this thin volume. It is inscribed from my mother to my father, who had served with the Office of War Information in China during the war.

IN A CHINESE GARDEN is a true story, taken from Dr. Loomis's 1942 book, THE BOND BETWEEN US; New York: Knopf. It is a simple story, centered around the message to "Enjoy yourself - it is later than you think."
