Paul Klee (1879-1940) had a passion for performance. His engagement with the subject ran from the depiction of opera singers to the production of functional hand puppets. This focused exhibition presents a selection of prints and drawings by Klee that addresses personalities often associated with the circus — acrobats, jugglers, animal handlers, clowns, buffoons — and places these designs in dialogue with the work of Alexander Calder, creator of the 20th century’s most famous sculptural circus.

法國畫家、漫畫家、雕塑家和版畫家。在貧困的生活中，創造出充滿強烈諷刺意味的作品風格。這幅水彩畫中的老夫妻雖已倦累疲憊，仍然堅毅地挺直腰桿為生活拚搏。



奧諾雷·杜米埃(Honoré Daumier)（1808年2月26日－1879年2月10日）是法國著名畫家、諷刺漫畫家、雕塑家和版畫家。是當時最多產的藝術家。
