Hans Christian Andersen's first installment of "Fairy Tales Told for Children" was published on May 8, 1835 in Denmark. It included beloved classics like "The Princess and the Pea" and "Little Ida's Flowers." Andersen found inspiration in traditional Scandinavian, German and Greek stories, from ancient times to the Middle Ages. His creativity was also sparked by fables, real-life events and nature's wonders. What's your favorite fairy tale of his?
“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become.”
“Let every dawn of morning be to you as the beginning of life, and every setting sun be to you as its close.” “If a book is worth reading, it is worth buying.”
