Après nous viennent les charges les plus précieuses, nos fusils et munitions que nous couvons jalousement de l’œil et auxquelles nous ne permettons jamais de rester en arrière ; puis commence la longue théorie des charges bien intéressantes celles-là aussi, des tentes, des sacs de literie, des caisses de vivres et de vêtements de toutes sortes dont on connaît bientôt la physionomie particulière de chacune, de telle sorte qu’en arrivant au camp et en voyant apparaître l’une après l’autre les soixante-dix charges qui nous suivent, on peut à première vue déjà dire à peu près certainement celle qui manque à l’appel.
