City Is Shut Down After Blasts at Airport and Subway

Explosions rocked the main airport and a subway in Brussels on Tuesday, killing at least 34 people. The attacks occurred four days after the capture of Salah Abdeslam, who is a suspect in the Paris attacks on Nov. 13.
致哀: 傍晚知道此"恐攻",當時死亡才報15人.....現在:至少35人。Two explosions were reported in the departure hall at Brussels Airport on Tuesday, forcing its evacuation.
這個城市有些美好的回憶,譬如說,1989或1990年,我們一行人從德國去找在魯文大學深造的羅時瑋一家人---帶一"小桶"德國啤酒,真失敬,因為比利時的啤酒也不差。羅同學帶我們參訪是好日子--著名的幼童雕像生日,尿出來的是"葡萄酒"。.....
國際機場我造訪過 (90年代初),其利用率和人群,讓我很驚訝,幾乎是世界之最。這也可以看出來該國很重視"實用",不會冤枉花錢裝門面。

昨天起,分別讀到:英、德、日等國的年金危機之討論。

分別讀過出生年是1975、1977的作家作品:

我去過英國2次,只1977年那次自己買機票,連英國在哪都不知就出國。到英國,行李找不到 (一個月後英航要我付倉儲費),提著在香港買的手提收錄音機搭巴士進城,完全是wonderful land,到Liverpool 站下車已是近黃昏----我事先知道,從此地可搭巴士到Colchester,就在附近找一家B&B---當然沒預約,尚可..... (1977-78年去倫敦約10次,不過都當日來回或者住同學家)
1991年第2次赴英國,第一次到法國。不過我與一瑞士人Thomas Schmockers先生同行。他會開車,所以旅館等由他負責,我很喜歡他不為某些航空公司的里程計畫所綁,所以我們從日本搭英航月北極飛英倫。他不知從哪裡聽說倫敦市內很貴, 所以只敢住城外的Holiday INN......我請他在SoHO中餐廳晚餐,就趕往 Ipswich....
我們公司的法國朋友幫我們訂到巴黎三星級HOTEL,好極了!
(我去年跟一位朋友談他在巴黎hotel 搶標到蘇格蘭機票,比台北-高雄還便宜。)
現在似乎應該利用什麼AirBnB等網站,我還沒利用過。

最近改聽軍樂進行曲,耳朵跳出一段小時候用台語哼的「黑貓在那裡坐著沒穿褲子」旋律。拜今電腦網路之賜,我找到了原曲,在此播出YouTube上日本樂團的版本,這段旋律在1:35處。
這句台語:「烏 貓 佇遐 坐 無穿 褲」(oo niau tī-hia tsē bô-tshng khòo)。
音樂旋律的首調簡譜:「5 6 36 5 31 5」(最後的5是低音)。
這首曲子是奧地利軍樂作曲家Josef Franz Wagner在1893年的名作Unter dem Doppeladler,英語常見譯作Under the Double Eagle,其實應該是Under the two-headed eagle(雙頭鷹是當年奧地利帝國的國徽),所以日文譯作「双頭の鷲の旗の下」,中文可譯「在雙頭鷹旗下」。
大家聽一下,這句台語與這段旋律多麼契合,由此可見台語的八音七調本身就很有音樂性。

Music on TV: How ‘Vinyl’ Tackled David Bowie


Actor Noah Bean, R&B singer Trey Songz and more weigh in on the bringing the musician to screen





Noah Bean had always been told he resembled David Bowie. But he never expected to play the beloved rock star.

During a shoot for HBO’s rock ‘n’ roll series “Vinyl” last August at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom, Bean (“Nikita,” “Damages”) found himself decked out in Ziggy Stardust-era garb, complete with orange hair and costume. In the scene, Bowie is rehearsing one of his signature tunes, “Suffragette City.”

Bean says channeling Bowie was difficult, but he knew it was a rare opportunity for an actor. “He was a huge rock god,” he says. “There’s a huge amount of confidence. You have to walk in and feel like an international rock god. I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel like that everyday.”
Bean auditioned for the role last July after his friend and “Vinyl” star Bobby Cannavalesuggested he go out for the part. “I was terrified,” Bean, 37, says of auditioning. “I didn’t imagine I would get it.”
For the one-day shoot and just roughly four minutes on the screen in the episode, Bean worked overtime to get Bowie’s movements and voice down just right. He worked with vocal and movement coaches. He watched a 1975 BBC documentary called “Cracked Actor” about Bowie, as well as interviews Bowie did with Dick Cavett. And he dropped a lot of weight, too. “I think cocaine was a staple of his diet in those days,” Bean says. “I didn’t go as far as getting a cocaine habit, but I did try to drop a few pounds.”
Bringing in Bowie to the “Vinyl” world continues with what music supervisor Randall Poster says is the shows goal of mixing “fact and fiction.” Other artists from the era that have been represented in the show’s plots include Alice CooperLou Reed and theVelvet Underground and the New York Dolls.
The episode was directed by Nicole Kassell (“The Leftovers,” “The Americans”) and features Bean-as-Bowie interacting with American Century Records honcho Zak (Ray Romano), who professes his love for the “Hunky Dory” material. The David Bowie character isn’t receptive to Zak’s thoughts about his current career choices and brushes him off, in a polite Bowie way. Ray looks confused, as if to say “Was it something I said?”
“I knew this was not to just have Bowie show up,” Kassell says. “It was to trigger an idea for Ray’s character that was going to play out for the rest of the season.”
Indeed, later on in the episode after a disastrous Bat Mitzvah, Zak becomes transfixed by a young piano player covering Bowie’s “Hunky Dory” song “Life on Mars?” The voice used in the episode singing the song is by R&B artist Trey Songz. Poster says he had Trey Songz in mind once they knew that song would be used.
“It somehow, in a simple way, had to transcend the ordinary,” Poster says of using this particular song for the episode. “We wanted to do a soulful take and I love Trey’s voice.”
For that song, Poster had the piano part recorded and sent it to Trey Songz, who says he did his vocals in roughly an hour, alone, after spending days listening to the instrumental that Poster sent him.
“I lived with it,” Trey Songz says. “If I’m riding in the car, going to the gym – I’m just playing it. When it came time to record it, it had become my everything.”

Vinyl is a 2012 British comedy film written and directed by Sara Sugarman. It is based on the true story of Mike Peters and The Alarm who in 2004 released the single "45 RPM" under the name of a fictitious band "The Poppy Fields".[1]
The film features a number of past pop and rock stars in cameo roles, such asSteve Diggle (Buzzcocks), Jynine James, Mike Peters and Tim Sanders (The City Zones), along with the actors Phil DanielsKeith AllenPerry BensonJamie Blackley and Julia Ford.[2]
Vinyl has a soundtrack written and performed by The Alarm with Mike Peters, Phil Daniels and Keith Allen all making contributions.
Filmed mostly on location in Rhyl, it features many local attractions and features. Despite being a USA production the cast is totally British with many of the actors having connections to North Wales, particularly Rhyl. The cast also includes many past members of The Rhyl T.I.C. (Theatre in the Community) which at the time of filming provided many of the younger cast including members of the fake band, the auditionees, security guards, music business employees and of course the fans. The local community of Rhyl also provided location venues in which the crew could film such as The Rhyl Pavilion, Robin Hood Caravan ParkGlan Clwyd Hospital and The Bistro night club. This allowed the film to stay close to the original true story and have the feel of an authentic biog picture.

Synopsis[edit]

The film follows the fortunes of washed-up punk rocker Johnny Jones (Phil Daniels) and his attempts to make a comeback into the Britishmusic charts. After a drunken session with his old bandmates, Johnny records what he feels could be a hit. However, faced with record company executives who no longer see him or his music as relevant, he hires a group of fresh-faced youngsters to film a video in which they mime to his music. The result is a record contract and a single racing up the charts. All goes well until the real band decide they want more recognition for their work. Due to a conflict between Minto, played by Keith Allen and Johnny Jones, it is not long before the truth is exposed. Suddenly, the media focus is back on Johnny and his fight for equality in the music business. This leads to a comedic finale and a heartwarming ending.
